Jazbaa director Sanjay Gupta has landed himself in a legal trouble again. The director who had a feud with Vinod Bachchan earlier has been ordered to deposit a hefty sum of rupees 20 lakhs by the court along with the Indian Film and Television Producer’s Council and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees. FWICE has given a certain time period to producer Vinod Bachchan to organize his legal proceedings in order to procure the amount.
Sanjay Gupta and Vinod Bachchan were reportedly supposed to work together for a film named Delhi Ka Thug which for some reason was shelved. Sanjay soon started working on his project with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan titled Jazbaa. Apparently a fake legal notice was sent to Sanjay by Vinod asking for a sum of rupees 50 lakhs. The demand was made as Vinod felt the money invested by him for Delhi Ka Thug is being used by Gupta for Jazbaa.
Sanjay Gupta had earlier filed a case against Vinod Bachchan for mental harassment and defamation stating that the latter had wrongly demanded money from him causing several problems. Now it seems like the odds are against Sanjay’s favour as the director is being sued for a sum of 20 lakhs which he is to submit within the time period specified by the court. On failing to do so, the sum deposited by him within the time period will also be fortified leading to fresh charges against the filmmaker.
Aishwarya who was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish in 2010 will be making her comeback this year with Jazbaa and another film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. The film also stars actors Irrfan Khan, Anupam Kher and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen playing the character of a lawyer in the film and bad guy opposite her will be Kaminey fame Chandan Roy Sanyal.
Sanjay Gupta had speeded up the process of the film in order to show case the first look at Cannes Film Festival 2015 of which actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a usual attender. Essel Vision Productions Ltd, Viking Entertainment and White Feather Films have produced Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa. The film is all set to hit theatres across India on 9th October.
