Well, starting with the fact that today is the death anniversary of Dashrath Manjhi, whose life inspired to make a film called Manjhi: The Mountain Man played by very well known Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the team will organise a function to talk about Manjhi, and will also inaugurate a gate that will serve as the entrance point to his statue built a few years ago.
Well little did we knew that the real man Dashrath Manjhi, continued to work for over 22 years by hammering mountains where people even laughed and made fun of him, and that’s how he was famously known, ‘The Mountain Man’ who lived in a small village in the state of Bihar. In the year 1959, Dashrath Manjhi‘s wife Falguni Devi died from lack of medical care. In the memory of his wife, he carved the path in the Gehlour hills so that his village could have easier access to medical attention.
Directed by Ketan Mehta, Manjhi – The Mountain Man starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte, was leaked last weak on a social sharing platform even before the release of the film. The makers of the film were shocked to find the watermarked preview copy of the Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer on several torrent sites.
Talking on the same, Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently at the promotions of the film said that such a film cannot be watched on a small laptop as such visuals and depth can’t be seen on a small screen.
The beloved actor who was last seen in Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan said, “All I can say is that, a story and a film like this cannot be watched on a small laptop. A story where there is a mountain and a person is standing in front of it, the depth of such a visual can’t be seen on a small laptop screen. So it’s my sincere request to people who have already seen the film that they come to the theatres to watch it again.”
“The pleasure can be felt only on the big screen. The film will make you cry and laugh and crack all your emotions and that’s why you should watch it on the big screen,” he added.
He also said, “the film has a huge scale and if people prefer to watch such a film on their laptops, then I don’t know what to say. The experience of such a film is best felt on the big screen. All I want to say is that we have made the film with a lot of passion and now we only hope is that the film reaches the audience.”
