MUMBAI: The British-Asian stunner and Bollywood’s top heroine Katrina Kaif was recently spotted getting jiggy with some of her younger fans, at the ‘Main Krishna Hoon’ screening at Cinemax theatre in Mumbai.
The dancing diva, most famous for her incredible latkas and jhatkas in ‘Chikni Chameli’ in Karan Johar’s Agneepath, was seen interacting with some young fans at the film screening. The young fans in question were a dozen or so of underprivileged children, who were treated to the screening of the 3D animation film ‘Main Krishna Hoon’, and were ecstatic when faced with their favourite actress. Katrina chose to wear a tangerine blazer with a white undershirt and black trousers, perfect for the casual event.
Katrina also revealed her witty and humorous side to us, at the recently concluded Zee Cine awards held in Mumbai. The superstar has probably been taking lessons in wit and getting the comic timing right, from her ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ co-star Shah Rukh Khan. No surprise then that she wowed us with her presence of mind while accepting the award for ‘Best International Icon Female’. The Bollywood beauty could hardly contain her happiness and sheer joy, when she received the Zee Cine Award from her idol Sridevi Boney Kapoor.
Katrina graciously accepted the prestigious award with utmost humility and poise, and quickly turned the atmosphere light with her witty acceptance speech. She claimed that the joy of receiving the award was doubled when she was informed that the ‘Best International Icon Female’ award was going to be presented to her by her idol, Sridevi.
Here’s an excerpt of her speech, which had the audience in splits (when she wittily turned it around when Boney Kapoor, who was also on stage to present the award, tapped her to remind her of his presence): “Well I think first and most importantly, it’s a huge honour to get any award from Sridevi. It’s a huge honour to stand next to her and I think this year honestly belongs to you and Boneyji. I don’t know what to say but he’s (Boneyji) been extremely important to me in the years I’ve been here and a huge support to me. So to receive this award from Sridevi and from you (Boneyji) is seriously a great honour.”
