Ranveer Singh To Get Under The Skin Of His Character In Bajirao Mastani

RanverSinghRanveer Singh is very upbeat about the film Bajirao Mastani that he has recently signed opposite his ladylove Deepika Padukone. Well, it was Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela that got both Deepika and Ranveer close and now they are once again set to burn the sliver screen with their sizzling chemistry in Bhansali’s ambitious project Bajirao Mastani.

Now, Ranveer Singh has hired a Marathi language tutor to help him prepare for the role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. Ranveer would be essaying the role of a Marathi general in the historical drama, based on the life of Peshwa Bajirao and his ladylove Mastani.

“Ranveer would have to get his language and diction completely right. The director doesn’t want a hue and cry over the language being mis-pronounced. Ranveer is already familiar with Marathi and can even speak the language, but for this role he needs to get the nuances and layering right.” stated a source close to the actor.

“Ranveer Singh needs to look convincing as a Maratha warrior. He also needs to acquire a more somber image than the one he has. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has asked Ranveer to control his nervous energy off screen and use it for the role,” added the source.

Deepika Padukone too seems to be looking forward to this project. When asked if she is excited to team up with Ranveer again for Bhansali’s much-talked project Bajirao Mastani, the actress said, “We are still working out the logistics. The only film that I can talk about is Imtiaz Ali’s next with Ranbir Kapoor. We start shooting for it in July. Besides this there are a couple of films that are in the pipeline but nothing has been finalised.”

Infact, for almost fifteen years, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been planning to make a film on Peshwa Bajirao and his ladylove Mastani. Bhansali’s dream cast for Bajirao Mastani was always Salman Khan and Aishwariya Rai. Sanjay had wanted to start Bajirao Mastani, post Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam but then the project kept getting delayed because of casting issues.

Here’s wishing Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his team all the best.
