Vidya Balan’s Begum Jaan Will Not Be Releasing In Pakistan For THIS Reason?

The plot of Vidya Balan’s Begum Jaan is causing a hindrance in its release in Pakistan.

The Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has been bagging appreciation for her performance in her upcoming film, Begum Jaan. In the movie, she is playing the role of a madam of a brothel.

The movie has been set in the backdrop of India-Pakistan’s partition. The story revolves around a brothel which needs to be demolished for the construction of India-Pakistan border. The madam of the brothel, i.e., Vidya Balan doesn’t agree to this and the movie features her struggle against the authorities.

Apparently, Pakistan does not approve of the whole partition incident and that is why it is banning the film in the country. Mahesh Bhatt, the Producer of the film, has even written a letter to the Pakistan Government, requesting to let the film release over there. The reply, however, is yet to come.

The current political tension between the two countries may also be affecting the release of the film.

It is not the first time that Pakistan has banned an Indian film in his country. Earlier also films like Raees, Neerja and Jolly LLB have met the same fate as Begum Jaan.

Begum Jaan is actually a remake of a Bengali film, Rajkahini starring Rituparna Sengupta in the role, that Vidya plays in the Bollywood adaptation.

Well, if not Pakistan, then at least in India the movie will be releasing on April 14, this year. We hope that the movie gets a fair chance of release in Pakistan as well.
