Yes, folks. The selfie is here to stay. Post the infamous Oscar selfie a month ago, which saw Hollywood’s biggest star squeezed into one frame for the ubiquitous selfie, Bollywood stars too have taken a shining to the self portrait. And the latest stars to join the selfie brigade are none other than Varun Dhawan and megastar Amitabh Bachchan!
The young star bumped into the legendary Amitabh Bachchan on sets of a dance reality show, Boogie Woogie, where they were each promoting their individual films. Varun Dhawan was there to promote his upcoming comic caper Main Tera Hero, which also stars Nargis Fakhri and Ileana D’Cruz, while Bachchan brought his film Bhootnath Returns to the small screen for promotions.
This is where Varun couldn’t resist the opportunity to request the senior actor for a picture. Bachchan can be seen in a white kurta pyjama and his trademark cream coloured shawl in a bespectacled look, while Varun is fresh-faced and spikey-haired in the selfie. Varun wore an acid washed denim jacket over a white tee and jeans for the shoot.
Interestingly, after the shoot, Dhawan and Bachchan spend some time together, discussing their shared passion for cinema.
Interestingly, Varun dispelled all myths that he had it easy in Bollywood, just because he is filmmaker David Dhawan’s son. On the show, Varun categorically said: “I also had to struggle in the industry inspite of being the son of David Dhawan. My first film was directed by Karan Johar and he is not even my father’s friend.”
Main Tera Hero is Varun Dhawan‘s second film, after his hit debut in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year in 2012. Directed by his dad David Dhawan, Main Tera Hero hits theatres next weekend, on April 04, 2014.
