[tps_footer]Shaukeen is an upcoming comedy film which features Akshay Kumar and Lisa Haydon and is a remake of Basu Chatrejee’s 1982 classic, set for a November 07, 2014 release.
Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Shaukeen also features Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal and Annu Kapoor who would portray the role of Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and AK Hangal from the classic.
The story revolves around these three old gentlemen who are lecherous and try to get lucky with a young girl, Rati Agnihotri, which is being played by Lisa Haydon. The role of Mithun Chakraborty would be portrayed by Akshay Kumar.
Anupam Kher tweeted: “Happy to announce the release date of #TheShaukeens. It is 7th Nov. Be ready for this fantasy ride. Jai Ho.:) @HaydonLisa @annukapoor_,”
Lisa Haydon also expressed her excitement on Twitter. “Got the most FANTASTIC phone call! #TheShaukeens releases 7thNovember. Can’t wait2share this film w/all of u cuz we had such fun making it!” Lisa tweeted.
However, the release date of Shaukeen is likely to clash with Ajay Devgn starrer Action-Jackson. Devgn’s movie release was delayed from June to November to avoid clashing with the dates with another Akshay Kumar movie, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty.
Action-Jackson is a packed action drama in the trademark Prabhu Deva style. It also stars Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.
Now it seems that Ajay Devgn‘s Action-Jackson’s release date would certainly clash with Akshay Kumar‘s Shaukeen and in the process the rivalry between the two action stars would continue.[/tps_footer]
