MUMBAI: The fifth season of dance-reality show has kicked off, and is already generating quite a lot of buzz for its drama quotient. Last week’s episode saw judge Shilpa Shetty break down and cry her heart out for some of the contestants.
This tearjerker episode began when Ravi and Sargun were criticized by the judges for their lackluster performance. Reveals a source: “This time, they did a fun, romantic act involving an old guy, a young girl and a trampoline. They chose to dance to ‘Second hand Jawani’ from Cocktail (2012). The judges liked their dance, but felt that the song and the trampoline didn’t go well together. When Sajid (judge Sajid Khan) gave the duo six marks on 10, Sargun said she was shocked as she had worked hard despite having two other TV shows to shoot for.”
Sajid Khan did not take to her outburst well at all. “He told her not to complain or justify herself. He asked her to accept the feedback and ensure she did better next time. On hearing that, Sargun started to cry.”
Soon it got tedious with a lot of justifications flying from both ends, which got too much to handle for everyone. Eventually Shilpa Shetty stepped in. “She took Sargun’s side, telling Sajid that she was just explaining and not justifying what she did. Then Shilpa too got emotional and began crying,” says the same source.
In this week’s episode Remo D’Souza, famous for his judge’s role in a prior dance show, is to make an appearance, to promote his film ‘Any Body Can Dance’ (ABCD). The film stars Prabhu Deva in the lead role, and several other dance show contestants, and is touted to be India’s first 3D dance film. Take a look at the pictures for a sneak peak of that episode. Enjoy!
