MUMBAI/ CHENNAI: Bollywood’s living legends Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan are the esteemed personalities who are on the guest list for the Centenary celebrations to be held in Chennai later this year.
Indian cinema is celebrating its 100th glorious year, and luminaries like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan will be representing the Hindi film industry at an event in Chennai. Stars from all the four Southern industries – Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu – are also expected to attend the event, to be held between 1-3 September, 2013.
President of The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC), Mr. C. Kalyan said: “Shah Rukh and Amitabh-ji are on our guest list. We have requested them to lend their support in our celebration. We are hoping that they will take out time and join us.”
The itinerary of the gala event is thus: the first day will be dedicated to celebrating Tamil and Malayalam cinema, while the second day will see homage being paid to Kannada and Telugu film industries.
Also on the cards is a special anthem composed by musical geniuses like either llayaraja or AR Rahman, which will be a special song composed for the event and will be played on the last day.
