MUMBAI: Sushant Singh Rajput’s role in television serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’ certainly was his gateway to Bollywood. But, the young actor has been quick enough to cash on his newfound fame with his debut film ‘Kai Po Che’.
‘Kai Po Che’ directed by Abhishek Kapoor, who earlier directed ‘Rock On’, had him playing a budding cricketer. Inspired from Chetan Bhagat’s ‘Three Mistakes of My Life’, ‘Kai Po Che’ not only was a commercial success, but it also marked the successful debut of Sushant Singh Rajput in Bollywood. The actor has teamed up with his ‘Kai Po Che’ director Abhishek Kapoor once again for a new romantic film.
Abhishek Kapoor who so far has received accolades for his work in ‘Rock On’ and ‘Kai Po Che’ said, “It is a passionate love story. It’s a space I haven’t ventured into. But it’s a standard genre for Indian cinema and I am going to make it with Sushant.”
The film is apparently an adaptation of Charles Dickens classic novel – Great Expectations.
Sushant Singh Rajput is currently shooting for Raj Kumar Hirani’s ‘PK’. A source close to Sushant Singh Rajput confirms that once shooting for ‘PK’ is wrapped, the actor will start work on Abhishek Kapoor’s film.
All we can say, Sushant Singh Rajput has been really lucky to get his second film with the director who launched him. Looks like a long working relation to look forward to.
