box office april mainAll in all the first three weeks of April 2014 there has been great at the Box Office, with films like 2 States, Bhoothnath Returns and Main Tera Hero raking it good monies at the Box Office.

2 States that released on April 18, 2014 has hit the bull’s eyes at the Box Office and managed a terrific first weekend collection. The movie also ran to packed houses in some centre. With its superb collection on the first day, the film became the third highest opener of 2014 after Jai Ho and Gunday.

2 States had an excellent weekend and has managed approximately Rs 370 million (Rs 37 crore) nett and is no signs of slowing down. The film has done extremely well in the urban centers but mass circuits are also good, as multiplexes in these circuits have returned good numbers.

2 States has had best Box Office collections. Looks like this youth based film is the flavour of the month. Its been great going Chetan Bhagat as 2 States based on his book is inching towards becoming a hit. The other two films that have hit bulls eyes based on his novels are 3 Idiots based on Five Point Someone and Kai Po Che based on 3 Mistakes of My Life. However Hello directed by Atul Agnihotri based on Chetan Bhagat‘s novel, One Night @ The Call Center was a Box Office disaster.

After watching 2 States, Mahesh Bhatt praised his daughter Alia Bhatt and her co-star Arjun Kapoor‘s acting. He is that much impressed by Arjun’s acting that he messaged his father Boney Kapoor. Looking at the weekend trend 2 States should hold and is the biggest hit of 2014.

Main Tera Hero that released on April 04, 2014 has managed to collect about Rs 487 million (Rs 48.7 crore).

However, Bhoothnath Returns that released on April 11, 2014 has shown a dip post the release of 2 States but the film has managed to collect about Rs 300 million (Rs 30 crore) nett till date.

Coming Friday, April 25, 2014 shall see the release of three films; Kaanchi, Samrat & Co. and Revolver Rani. Now it would be interesting to see how these films fare at the Box Office.
