MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures’ ‘Barfi!’ directed by Anurag Basu, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’cruz has excelled at the Box Office in its opening weekend.
While Friday was quite fierce with collections of close to Rs 98 million (Rs 9.8 crore) net, it was Saturday and Sunday that the film saw a marked pickup. The major response came from multiplexes in metros like Mumbai and Delhi; UP and Punjab followed close.
The three-day total of Barfi! is in the range of Rs 348 million (Rs 34.80 crore) net.
The weekend trending is strong, and since the film has received rave reviews and no critic has gone below 4 stars for the film, the forecast for the first week collections are very positive.
