MUMBAI: Fox Star Studios’ and Vishesh Films’ ‘Murder 3’, directed by Vishesh Bhatt, featuring Randeep Hooda, Aditi Rao Hydari and Sara Loren has seen a very disheartening first week at the box office.
Debutante director Vishesh Bhatt’s ‘Murder 3’, which is the third installment in the very successful ‘Murder’ films franchise, has failed to live up to the expectations from the film. As reported, the film opened to a very dismal first day, garnering a business of only approximately Rs 39.2 million (3.92 crore) net on Day 1. After seeing a drop on Saturday, and a mild pick up on Sunday, the 3 day total of the film sat in the range of Rs 117 million (Rs 11.70 crore) net.
With such a dull opening weekend, there was not any hope from the weekdays too.
The first week collections of Fox Star Studios’ ‘Murder 3’ are low, being in the range of Rs 176 million (Rs 17.6 crore) net. The business has been so disheartening that many single screen theatres have even stopped screening the film over the last few days. With a slew of films on offer this week, it looks unlikely that ‘Murder 3’ will be able to compete for much longer, and the collections are likely to decline further in the coming week.
