Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor’s Roy Receives The Biggest Opening Of 2015

Roy-box-offieRoy, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez had a good start on its first day at the Box Office. With good opening of 40-45% of occupancy rate at multiplexes, Roy impressed audiences on its first day.
However, the single screen response was unexpectedly below the mark. Considering the fact that Friday is just a normal week day, Roy did quite good. Reportedly, the film succeeded in doing good business at the Box Office on its first day by earning around Rs. 9.23 Crore (92 million).

Presence of Ranbir Kapoor in the film and catchy soundtrack is the plus point for director Vikramjit Singh‘s Roy. The film did quite well on its first day in Mumbai, Delhi and East Punjab. Roy‘s first day earning on the single screens was not as strong as multiplexes, yet Ranbir‘s this film is the first film of the year to have a good first day opening, beating Akshay Kumar‘s Baby and Amitabh Bachchan‘s Shamitabh‘s first day collection.
Saturday being Valentine’s day might not actually help Roy to sell out more tickets than it did on its first day. The film did well on its opening because audiences had a curiosity to see Ranbir‘s part in the film. But now that the cards are on table, things don’t look so good for Roy.
