Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty starrer ‘Hero‘ that hit theaters yesterday on September 11, 2015 has managed to gain an impressive collection on its first day. The film that was the talk of the town due to its well strategized promotional activities, has collected Rs. 6.50 crore nett. Which is an above decent earnings given the film has newcomers.
‘Hero‘ has performed better in the Nothern regions of CP Berar, Rajasthan and Bihar. The film’s performance in metro cities like Mumbai was also pretty good as it isn’t facing any competition with other releases. On its first day the film opened to a good start with an occupancy rate of 30% average. Performing well in Gujarat as well, the film could not grab audience in areas of Delhi and Punjab.
Given the tremendous support given by actor Salman Khan, it isn’t a surprise that the film has managed to gain a good collection on its first day. Although, the collections on Saturday will determine where ‘Hero‘ leads ahead. In order to keep the graph higher, the film does not have a huge margin to cover, but needs to keep its pull intact. With a steady start the movie is expected to cover a good amount in the weekend.
Produced by Salman Khan, ‘Hero‘ has been directed by Nikhil Advani. It is a remake of Subhash Ghai‘s directed 1983 film of the same name, which starred Jackie Shroff. The film is a love story between a Gangster who kidnaps a rich girl who is the daughter of a police officer. We are now looking forward to see the film’s first weekend collection.
