Star Plus’ Rohini Singh Appointed As Head Of Commissioning For Zee TV

Entertainment network Zee TV has roped in Rohini Singh as the new head of commissioning for the channel for developing the fictional content. Prior to this Singh was working with Star Plus where she headed the same fictional content department for almost more than 17 years now. The new appointment was made due to Zee’s programming head Namit Sharma’s resignation from the company that took place recently.

Zee TV’s business head Pradeep Hejmadi is of an opinion that Rohini Singh along with head of fiction Charu Singh will make a formidable team to take Zee’s existing shows to a new level. Hejmadi further praised his new employee by crediting her track record for delivering outstanding drama. The network believes that with her vast experience, Rohini Singh will bring the very best from the established and emerging writers’ talent pool to Zee TV.

Rohini Singh herself added that she is looking forward to this challenging experience to aim and make programmes that will please the masses and make the shows a commonly discussed topic amongst them. She added, “I look forward to steering Zee TV into the future and building on its success as it continues to be the home of the most original storytelling across a range of drama that is unique to it in the rapidly changing Indian television landscape. I am most excited to have this opportunity to commission and make entertaining, popular programmes for Zee TV audiences.”

Rohini Singh has an impressive track record of being a part of many networks and enhancing their projects including Star Plus, BBC and TV 18 and has also worked with Sony TV, Sab TV and Star One for individual projects. In her time as fiction content head at Star Plus, Singh has spearheaded and launched shows like Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna, Pyaar Ka Dard, Veera, Arjun, Kaali, Saraswati Chandra, Meri Bhabhi, Ek Ghar Banaoungaan, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 2. She has also developed content for the serials Dill Mil Gayye, Milley Jab Hum Tum, Geet, Pratigya and Maryada amongst others.
