Dwayne Johnson Roped In For Jungle Cruise Movie

Dwayne Johnson who is known for his dare devil stunts in the movies Furious 7 and San Andreas is all geared up to star in the Jungle Cruise themed movie by Disney. After showing off his hard hitting action image, The Rock will be seen playing the most important character in the safari themed movie.

The plot of the yet untitled film is not revealed, but it is surely going to be a throwback and period film with the Jungle Cruise ride as its base. After the immense success of the Pirates Of the Caribbean, Disney has often expressed their willingness to give shape to films with regard to its theme park attractions under the same brand.

Dwayne, who impressed the masses with his last movie San Andreas, is also being appreciated for the new TV series Ballers. The wrestler turned action star has already created a huge fan following for himself and is all ready to divert from his hardcore action oriented films.

Making movies from the theme of the rides has been on Disney’s mind for a while now, and the Jungle Cruise themed movie will be the next one after the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies. Not many details about the film are out as of now, but John Requa and Glenn Ficarra are roped in to pen the script for the film. The director of the film is also not yet announced.

Apart from the Jungle Cruise related movie by Disney, Dwayne is also tied up with several upcoming projects namely, Central Intelligence, Moana etc. Johnson will also start shooting for the comedy flick Baywatch by the start of year 2016.
