[tps_footer]Paul Walker who starred in street racing blockbuster series The Fast And The Furious was attending a charity event and traveling in a red Porsche when it hit a lamp post and burst into flames in California.
Walker, who was forty years old, is survived by his fifteen year old daughter Meadow.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said officers found the car engulfed in flames when they responded to a report of a collision in the Valencia area. The two people who were found in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. The Sheriff’s Department said that speed was a factor in the crash.
The Santa Clarita Valley Signal reported that the Porsche crashed into a light pole and tree, and burst into flames. Attendees from a near by shop, rushed to put out the flames with fire extinguishers to no avail. A statement on Walker’s Facebook page said he was a passenger in a friend’s car and had been in the area to attend a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide.
Walker was working on the seventh Fast And Furious movie at the time of his death. Walker also starred in the suspense drama, Hours, which was set for release this month.
“Your humble spirit was felt from the start,” said co-star Ludacris on Twitter.
“Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in peace,” posted his Fast and Furious co-star Vin Diesel.
The son of a fashion model and a sewer contractor, Walker grew up in a working class, Mormon household in Glendale, California. The oldest of five siblings, Walker’s mother began taking him to auditions as a toddler. He was a child model beginning at the age of two.
His performance in the 2000 thriller The Skulls caught the eye of producer Neal H. Moritz, who cast him in The Fast And The Furious as undercover police officer Brian O’Conner and from there on he never looked back.
The world lost an angel in Paul. He dedicated so much of his life to helping disadvantaged kids and people who are in need. Paul Walker was one of the most beloved and respected actors in Hollywood and his sudden death and left a lot of people tear eyes and numb.[/tps_footer]
