Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon are the new cast of Paul Feig‘s upcoming all-female Ghostbusters! The director tweeted a photo of the actors. McCarthy has reportedly been signed already, while Wiig, Jones, and McKinnon are still working out their deals.
For McCarthy, Ghostbusters will be her fourth film with Feig, and the two had worked together earlier in the films Bridesmaids, The Heat, and the upcoming Spy.
Among the relatively lesser known McKinnon and Jones, McKinnon has been a Saturday Night Live (SNL) celebrity since 2012 and Jones had joined the show in early 2014. Jones also has a role in Chris Rock‘s Top Five. Reportedly, another SNL star, Cecily Strong, would also play a small role in Ghostbusters.

Ghostbuster has experienced a long journey since its original director Ivan Reitman was set to return, with the original cast Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson repeating themselves, though actor Bill Murray didn’t seem to keen. The project faced a deadlock there while Ramis passed away last year.
Feig‘s idea for an all-female Ghostbusters would be a pleasant turn after Ghostbuster I and Ghostbuster II, as a new story with new characters can be explored. The film is scheduled to hit the floors this summer in New York.
