An end of an era is nearing, and its surely devastating. For more than a decade the world has known and cherished Hugh Jackman as the ultimate Wolverine and now the actor has confirmed the news that pointed at his retirement from the role of the superhero. Jackman gave an official statement in an interview breaking the sad news.
Hugh Jackman had been dropping hints for quite some time now by talking about exploring roles of different palate. Rumours of his appearance in X Men: Apocalypse and James Mangold’s The Wolverine 3 have now been confirmed by the actor as he has announced his final appearance as Wolverine in the film slated to release in 2017.
The 46-year-old actor who has been associated with the franchise for almost 17 years now stated that it felt like the right time to retire from the superhero’s role. The actor further added that he had never in a million years thought his association with the character would go on for 17 long years. Anticipation has definitely risen beyond limits as Jackman defines his last film as ‘the perfect way to go out’. What’s going to happen when it all ends? Well, we’ll just have to wait and watch!
X-Men: Apocalypse is set to release on May 27, 2016 and with the recent announcement, The Wolverine 2 is scheduled for a March 3, 2017 release. Hugh Jackman’s film Pan was recently shifted to October 9. The film was earlier scheduled to release on July 24.
