Hollywood movie ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ has been creating a buzz since its inception, and now Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o‘s role has been disclosed. The actress rose to fame after her critically acclaimed performance in the film 12 Years A Slave and has since then bagged roles in many of the A-list movies. Director J.J. Abrams finally opened up about her role in the film recently and also explained the process behind bringing her character to life.
In ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, Lupita Nyong’o will be playing the role of alien pirate queen, Maz Kanata, which will be shown completely with the help of CGI. The actress herself then stated how excited she was to shoot with CGI as it was an exciting opportunity. J.J. Abrams revealed that he had some specific ideas about how she would work and what she would do. He had a pitch about these goggles that she wore, as her eyes are an important aspect of her character.
Maz Kanata is an important part of the Star Wars universe and will be brought to life in the 7th installment of the film franchise, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. Her history is that she was a pirate for a long time and has lived over a thousand years. Maz had this watering hole for about a century, and it’s like another bar that you’d find in a corner of the ‘Star Wars’ universe says director Abrams. Well we’re definitely excited to see what Lupita has to offer through her role as a pirate queen.
Starring actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow and Mark Hamill among others, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ is directed and co-produced by J.J. Abrams. Walt Disney Pictures is the production company behind the picture along with Lucasfilm Ltd and Bad Robot Productions.
