Based on the real life story of American chess grandmaster Bobby Fischer, Pawn Sacrifice starring Tobey Maguire in the lead role is all set to dazzle the audiences this year. The official trailer of the film that released yesterday shows promise from the side of the actor as well as director Edward Zwick who has done a fine job enlightening the audience about the film’s storyline all through the trailer itself.
Pawn Sacrifice will take us through the journey of American chess prodigy Bobby Fischer who became a world champion in chess at a very young age. Taking a trip down memory lane, the film shows Fischer’s achievements since the time he was just a little kid playing chess in his bedroom. The trailer gradually shows the transformation of a young bright chess player into a world champion.
Highlight of the film however will be the World Chess Championship match of 1972 between American chess grandmaster Bobby Fischer and Russian chess grandmaster Boris Spassky that is considered to be a historic event. The Wolverine actor Liev Schreiber will essay the role ofBoris the film. The film shows the caliber of both the actors Toby and Liev as they portray the intense role of world-class chess players.
Stories based on real life, especially inspiring ones based on any athlete, musician, actor or a famous personality is bound to connect with the audiences as we’ve seen in the past. Pawn Sacrifice can be expected to create the same magic this September 18, 2015. The film was first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2014.
Tobey Maguire himself has coproduced the film along with Gail Katz. The film also stars actorsLily Rabe, Peter Sarsgaard, Michael Stuhlbarg and Robin Weigert amongst others.
