For the first time since the divorce papers were filed, actor Tom Cruise has been able to spend a complete day with his 6-year-old daughter Suri Cruise. In the divorce settlement between Tom and Katie Holmes, the physical custody of Suri has been awarded to Katie and Tom has been given generous visitation rights.
After a helicopter ride over New York city and a sleepover at Robert de Niro’s luxury Greenwich hotel in TriBeCa, Tom is reported to have taken his daughter to Chelsea Piers for her gymnastics class. Suri’s fondness for her father is apparent in the photographs showing the duo walk out of their hotel. The little girl had her head buried in her father’s shoulder as they headed to an awaiting car.
A day before the father and daughter reunion, Suri and her mother Katie were involved in a car accident. A police source said that a New York City Sanitation truck sideswiped the Mercedes which they were in on 16 July, but no one was injured.
