Director Todd Phillips confirms Hangover 3 as finale

MUMBAI: With The Hangover Part II opening worldwide this week, director Todd Phillips has spoken out about the possibility of a third and final Hangover movie.

While quizzed at a press conference for Part II, Phillips was surprisingly positive regarding the idea of continuing the series with Part III.

Though the director admits that “quite honestly we really haven’t talked about it as we just finished the movie two weeks ago,” he goes on to add that a third movie could be a trilogy capper.

“The third would very much be a finale and an ending. The most I could say about it – and I haven’t discussed it with these actors – is that it is not following that template but very much a new idea. As far as where it takes place, I’m very open like the Olympic committee to being pitched and presented cities, flown around with wine and women and bribed and then I will make my decision,” Phillips says.

With market analysts expecting Hangover Part II to make a tonne of cash when it opens on 26 May, Phillips may just get his chance to turn his series into a trilogy.
