EMI Music and Dailymotion ink global music video partnership

MUMBAI: Online video company Dailymotion and EMI are partnering to deliver EMI’s library of music videos to Dailymotion’s Web video site, mobile site and iPhone app and the Dailymotion channel on Internet connected TVs.

The partnership combines EMI’s collection of premium music videos with Dailymotion’s reach of over 65 million global users.

Beginning April 2010, Dailymotion users will be able to enjoy music videos from artists including Coldplay, Katy Perry, Robbie Williams, David Guetta, among others, from all of EMI’s labels including Astralwerks, Blue Note, Capitol and Virgin, as well as the labels represented by EMI Label Services and EMI’s Caroline Distribution unit. The agreement makes use of Dailymotion’s robust ad platform, which will deliver ads with EMI videos to all three screens.

“Dailymotion offers the value of a powerful, new environment where our artists can showcase their work and create deeper relationships with fans. It allows consumers to watch music videos by their favorite artists at any time on the screen of their choice” said EMI Music global head Digital Business development Mark Piibe.

“EMI and Dailymotion are delivering what our large audiences of music lovers truly want – to watch the music videos they love on their screen of choice. We are delighted to be adding EMI to our strong roster of music partners including Universal Music Group and The Orchard,” said Dailymotion US general manager Joy Marcus.
