EMI Music Canada signs One More Girl

Mumbai: EMI Music Canada has signed on sisters Britt & Carly McKillip, collectively known as One More Girl.

One More Girl have been making music together since they were young girls and are already seasoned veterans of the entertainment business. They’ve grown up immersed in the country music scene, both in Canada and in Nashville and cite music legends Vince Gill, Rodney Crowell and Patty Loveless as both influences and favorites.

The girls call Vancouver, BC home and have accumulated an impressive list of credits in spite of their young ages (seventeen and nineteen years old). The Calgary Stampede, the Merritt Mountain Music Festival and Canadian Country Music week are among the many events at which they’ve performed, opening for artists such as Dwight Yoakam and Keith Urban.

Over the past three years, One More Girl has been steadily winning over fans with riveting performances and their signature knock-out vocals. In addition to receiving 2005, 2006 and 2007 ‘Group of the Year’ nominations from the B.C. Country Music Association, the girls took home the prestigious ‘Horizon Award’ for the ‘Best New Artist’ of 2004.

Actor, entertainer and Order of Canada recipient Tom Jackson was the catalyst to the girls signing with EMI Music Canada. After seeing the girls perform live, Jackson commented: "When I first heard One More Girl, I was overwhelmed by their pure passion and conviction….as I watched them sing I was drawn into the love and trust that only sisters can have for one another…I bear witness to the changing face and the beautiful future of country music…." Jackson was so impressed that he brought the girls to the attention of Deane Cameron and Fraser Hill of EMI Music Canada, which led to their eventual signing.

"One More Girl are young, fresh and exciting new faces in Canadian country music scene. Their country pedigree is impeccable, having parents who are both noted songwriters and producers. EMI Music Canada is honored to be working with One More Girl," commented EMI Music Canada senior director artists & repertoire Hill.

Their first single and video for the song I Can Love Anyone is enjoying immediate success at Country radio across Canada as well as CMT, and will be available for purchase on iTunes on December 23, 2008. And to celebrate the season, One More Girl is releasing their own fun rendition of the rockin’ Christmas classic Run, Rudolph, Run, which is available at Country radio stations now.

One More Girl’s debut album is expected in Spring 2009.
