Endemol appoints Disney’s Toumazis as chief commercial officer

Mumbai: Endemol has appointed Tom Toumazis to the new role of chief commercial officer.

At Endemol, Toumazis will oversee the worldwide commercial activities for the group. In his capacity, he will be in charge of further building Endemol’s distribution business, which incorporates a rapidly growing library of over 2200 non-scripted formats and more than 200 scripted titles, and manage worldwide sales and distribution of all Endemol’s non-scripted formats, scripted programming and library.

He will also build and manage Endemol’s third party distribution business, as well as co-productions and pre-sales of scripted programming, to support Endemol’s growth in this area.

Toumazis also sits on Disney’s European Management Board, with special responsibilities for some of the key developing markets, including the Middle East, Turkey, Greece, and Africa. Over the last seven years, he has held a number of top-level positions at Disney, joining in 2001 as senior vice president and managing director Buena Vista International Television, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

He has overseen TV licensing and distribution of ABC Studios worldwide hits such as Desperate Housewives, Lost, and Grey’s Anatomy, feature films from Walt Disney Studios and Miramax and Disney Channel franchises such as High School Musical and Hannah Montana.

In his new role, Toumazis will report to Endemol Group CEO Ynon Kreiz.
