Fontana’s three independent albums top charts

MUMBAI: Fontana, the independent distribution arm of Universal Music Group (UMG), tops the national independent albums chart this week with three albums in the Top 10 and six albums in the Top 15, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

Topping the independent album chart was the debut of R&B sensation Joe’s new release, Signature at no.1, followed by the self-titled smash from rock supergroup Chickenfoot at no.6 and Brooke White’s High Hopes & Heartbreak at no.7. Rounding out the Top 15 were Krizz Kaliko’s Genius at no.12, Chico DeBarge’s Addiction at no.13, and Mos Def’s Ecstatic at no.14.

Fontana will continue to fuel its blockbuster summer of releases with upcoming albums from Alexisonfire (Vagrant), Marques Houston (TUG), Black Crowes DVD (Eagle Rock), Mack 10 (Hoo Bangin), Reggae Gold 2009 (VP), Trick Daddy (Dunk Ryders), Brand New (IGA), Rakim (SMC), Tech N9ne (Strange), Anvil DVD (VH1 Classic), Tim Buckley (Tompkins Sq), Gin Blossoms (429/Savoy), Mannheim Steamroller (American Gramaphone), David Gray (Mercer St /Downtown), The Features (429/Savoy), Jason Aldean DVD (Eagle Rock) and Cold (Sonic Star), among others.
