MUMBAI: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’s mid-night ticket sales across 3,003 locations stand at a whopping $22.2 million.
Warner Bros said that the movie was on track for a record-breaking opening weekend debut.
The sixth Potter film broke the $18.5-million-record midnight earnings of last year’s Batman movie The Dark Knight, which incidentally was also produced and distributed by Warner Bros. On the other hand, the midnight screening collections from Transformer: Revenge of the Fallen were $16 million.
Now it remains to be seen if the Potter gang is well on track to break The Dark Knight’s highest one-day US box office record of $67.1 million. Transformers’ one day US collections stood at $62 million.
