Mumbai: The music of the film Aloo Chat was released on 20 February at the Red Lounge in Cinemax, Versova. Directed by Robby Grewal, the film stars Aftaab Shivdasani, Aamna Sharif, Linda Arsenio, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Manoj Pahwa, Dolly Aluwalia, Sanjay Mishra, Meenakshi Sethi, Bijendra Kala, Kailash Soni and Chandan Anand.
The film has been co-produced by actor Anuj Saxena of Maverick Productions and Mirchi Movies. The entire cast and crew of the film were present at the launch. The evening started with performances by RDB.
Aloo Chaat is Saxena’s first film as producer. Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, this actor turned producer says, "It’s easier being an actor than a producer. The job of a producer is really tough." The film has been made in an average budget and has a marketing budget of approximately Rs 20 – 25 million (Rs 2 – 2.5 crores).
Saxena, who plans to produce more films later this year, says, "Today it’s all about branding and marketing, we are going all out with the marketing of the film right from reality shows, complete outdoor hoardings, internet, everything. Also we are expecting the sale of the music to be good as we have RDB who is really popular in India as well as abroad."
This film also happens to be Shariff’s first film, though she is popular as a television actress. She says, "Right now I am only excited about Aloo Chaat since it’s my first film and am eagerly waiting for the release."
