Saregama unveils Rahat Ali’s maiden album

MUMBAI: Saregama India Ltd has launched Ustaad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s first solo album in India – Charkha.


 


The album was unveiled by Harsh Goenka. Khan enthralled the audiences by his live performance. His performance on the track Tere Bina from the album Charkha received a standing applause. The evening was attended by music lovers Aadesh Srivastav, Rahul Sharma and Neha Bhasin.  


 


Charkha is an authentic Sufi lounge album with compositions of Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and his grandfather. This is the first ever solo album by Khan to be released in India. The tunes of the album are traditional arranged in lounge music while the music is composed by Khan with a blend of Urdu and Punjabi lyrics penned by Bullay Shah, Ahmed Anis, Anwar Jogi, and Shah Hussen.  


 


Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan born in 1974 at Faisalabad, Pakistan, in the lineage of Sufi music and was tutored by his uncle Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the art of classical music. An extremely gifted child, he started training in music when he was just seven years of age. Under the guidance of his illustrious uncle he went on to do his first stage performance at the age of 11 and since then has never looked back.


 


Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has received many nominations and awards in India for his music.
