Looks like Mahesh Babu starrer Srimanthudu has taken a back seat to avoid clash with star studded film Baahubali. This news has shocked Mahesh Babu fans who were eager to catch a glimpse of the star’s film by next month itself.
Nonetheless the filmmakers have announced that audio launch of the film will be done on July 18. Srimanthudu which was earlier slated to hit theatres on July 17 will now be releasing 2 days after Mahesh Babu‘s birthday that is on August 07.
The decision comes keeping the distributors’ safety in mind after Baahubali makers confirmed that their film will release on July 10. With only a week’s gap between the two films, distributors were concerned about the risky position and did not want to take any chances.
Well practically, it is quite a smart decision made by them as S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali is grand compared to Srimanthudu’s relatively simple story. Srimanthudu was originally slated for a May release but was postponed to July due to technical reasons and now the film’s release date has again been shifted to August.

Mahesh Babu and Prabhas fans had already started a war on Internet set to support their favourite actors in their competitive releases. But now with Srimathudu’s postponement, comparisons between the two films will finally come to an end.
Srimanthudu is an upcoming Telugu film written as well as directed by Koratala Siva, which will see actor Mahesh Babu portraying the role of a millionaire’s son. The film stars actress Shruti Haasan essaying the female lead. Produced by Y. Naveen, Y. Ravi Shankar and CV Mohan, the film also stars actors Jagapati Babu, Sukanya, Rajendra Prasad, Aamani, Angana Roy, Sanam Shetty and Sampath Raj in important roles.
After increasing the anticipation by releasing the poster of official first look of actor Mahesh Babu in the film, the teaser of Srimanthudu is took the graph even higher. The teaser shows the actor in a dashing hunk’s avatar where we can see Mahesh’s usual ‘calm yet hard hitting’ image. Filled with thrilling dialogues, amazing locations and action sequences on point, the film’s teaser has done its job as fans have already started declaring it an upcoming super hit.
