Trailer Review: CityLights – Rajkumar Rao Is In Trouble With This One

CityLights Main coverWell his journey began with Love Sex aur Dhokha in the year 2010. Very few people took notice of this talented actor and suddenly post the National Award he is the talk of the town. We are talking about Rajkumar Rao who is ready to face the critics as well as the audiences with CityLights.

Suddenly his film CityLights is touted to be the next big thing but then that’s where the catch lies cause CityLights falls way below expectations and is a warn, heart wrenching and a regular film.

One look at the trailer of CityLights and the story is very clear. It’s a journey of a couple who does not have it easy in the city of Mumbai. The plot is based on the life of a trader in Rajasthan who comes to the City of Mumbai with his wife and daughter in hope of a better life.

The challenges they face, their encounter with a big city and how they rise to meet those challenges nurtured by the power of their love is what Citylights is all about.

However, after failing to find work Deepak Singh (Rajkumar Rao) lands a job with a pitiful pay, forcing his wife, to become a bar dancer. After endless hungry sleepless nights, Deepak Singh is forced to take a stand; one that could have a deadly end.

TAKE A LOOK AT THE TRAILER:
At heart Citylights is a love story, a story about familial bonding, a thriller that explores the depths of human nature and a drama about sacrifice in the city of dreams. Citylights is about our world, our times and the ultimate emotion that drives every relationship – love.

Citylights is an official remake of the international award winning film Metro Manila that has received critical acclaim and won many awards internationally.

The film stars Rajkumar Rao and his real life girlfriend Anwita, who for some strange reasons will be introduced by the screen name of Patralekha.

Now Anwita or Patralekha does look good in the film and is very confortable infront of the camera but then all eyes are on Rajkumar Rao who is good put trust me one is expecting the extraordinary from that boy and that’s where the trouble from him shall begin.

CityLights has been produced by Mukesh Bhatt and directed by Hansal Mehta and is slated to hit theatres on May 30, 2014.
