MUMBAI: Recently, Priyanka Chopra visited Mary Kom’s home in Manipur to consult her on the script for the film ‘Mary Kom’.
Apparently, after the consultation, Priyanka Chopra has asked the makers to make some changes in the script.
This is not the first time that changes are being made to a film’s script because the reali-life person it is based on has asked for the change. Milkha Singh was involved throughout the scripting of ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, even though scriptwriter Prasoon Joshi changed a few things around for narrative heft.
In the ‘Mary Kom’ film, there is apparently a scene that shows her character shaving off her hair to show her anger and protest against some disagreements she had with sporting federations and authorities.
Turns out Mary Kom hadn’t shaved her head for such a serious reason but more because she wanted new, thicker hair growth.
Because of this, Priyanka Chopra asked Omung Kumar, the director of ‘Mary Kom’, and his scriptwriting team to make the changes before the second schedule of the shoot gets underway in October.
