Khan’s film stars Shahid Kapur, Ayesha Takia and Nana Patekar.
Some of the child actors in the film are Ali Haji, Swini Khera, Dwij Yadav and Avika Gor. Kapur plays the role of a teacher in the film and the story revolves around a group of troubled young students.
The film has been made on a budget of approximately Rs 150 million (Rs 15 crores).
Speaking to Businessofcinema, Khan says, "Since it’s a Shahid film, we are thinking of a big release but it all depends on the market since times are not too good due to the recession."
Paathshala is produced by Reliance BIG Pictures and is targeting a release post the IPL.
