Manjrekar’s cousin forays into filmmaking


MUMBAI: Actor – director Mahesh Manjrekar’s cousin, Santosh Manjrekar, has forayed into filmmaking.

Santosh, who has assisted Mahesh Manjrekar on most of his films, has directed four short films. One is a 12-minute documentary on Mumbai’s Mithi river, while the other three are one-minute films on AIDS.

“The film on the Mithi river was commissioned by the BMC (Brihanmumumbai Municipal Corporation) and the one on AIDs has been commissioned by the Maharashtra District Aids Control Society. The Mithi river film focuses on the river’s fate on 26/7 and the work undertaken thereafter. The AIDS films features actors like Suniel Shetty, Sonali Bendre, Mahesh Manjrekar and others,” he says.
