MUMBAI: Mukta Arts’ Marathi film Valu, which is slated for release on 25 January, will also be the first Marathi film since the last 37 years to be screened at the Rotterdam Film Festival.

It is also the only Indian project, which has got post-production support from the Hubart Bals Fund, which is given to promising filmmakers. The international premiere of Valu will take place at the festival on 29 January. The film is directed by Umesh Vinayak Kulkarni and stars Atul Kulkarni, Dr. Mohan Agashe, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Bharati Acharekar, Girish Kulkarni, Nirmitee Sawant and others. The music is by Mangesh Dhakde.
