MUMBAI: National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) premiered its bilingual film Haat at the 11th Mumbai Film Festival.
The film, which is in the Hindi and Rajasthani language, stars Divya Dutta, Archana Puran Singh, Mukesh Tiwari and Yashpal Sharma. It is a social drama set in Rajasthan based on women empowerment and is directed by Seema Kapoor.
Kapoor has worked with international and nationally known directors such as Swedish Director Guinter W., Russian director Obrasove, Rajinder Nath, Dadi Padamji, Habib Tanveer, Astad Debu, and many more. She has written the screenplay and dialogues for the film Abhay.
Kapoor said, "Firstly I would like to thank NFDC for encouraging and supporting me by producing my film. Haat being my first film, I was wary and expecting a lot of interference from NFDC but there was hardly any. NFDC showed complete faith in me and stood by me and guided me at every step. The financial arrangements were also excellent and never ever I had to think about the money during and after the shooting. They treated this project so well that I couldn’t believe how smoothly the shooting got complete. It was truly a memorable experience, working with the NFDC."
The story, screenplay and dialogues for the film have been written by Kapoor. The music is by Ali Ghani and has Roop Kumar Rathod, Jaspinder Narula, Javed, Madhushree and Mahalakshmi Iyer as playback singers. Sunny Joseph is the cinematographer and Sanjeeb Datta is the editor of the film.
