Mumbai: English movie channel Pix will premiere Helen Mirren starrer The Queen, directed by Stephen Frears, on 31 August at 8 pm.
The movie also stars James Cromwell, Alex Jennings, and Roger Allam. The film takes a dramatic ride into the past as it deals with the period just preceding and following the graphic death of Diana the princess of Wales in 1997.
The movie deals with not just the royal response to the public grief over the death of Diana but also her interaction with Prime Minister Tony Blair. Weaving a beautiful story, the movie takes you inside the private chambers of the Royal Family and the British government for a captivating look at a vulnerable human being in her darkest hour.
Mirren with her spellbinding performance bagged the Academy Award for Best Actress (2007). The Queen also had another remarkable performance, that of Michael Sheen as the newly ordained Prime Minister Tony Blair.
