MUMBAI: The definitive awards ceremony in India, Filmfare magazine hosted a nomination party last night in Mumbai. India’s equivalent of the Oscars, the Filmfare award is probably the most prestigious award in our land, along with the Government’s National Award nod. No surprise then, that Bollywood’s biggest stars were in attendance at the nomination bash held last night.

Bollywood’s young brigade was out in full force, celebrating their nods. Right from Ranveer Singh (STILL in his ‘Ram Leela’ avatar), to his rumoured girlfriend Deepika Padukone, the young ones were all there, dressed in their ‘Monday Best’!

Anushka Sharma in an uncharacteristically shabby avatar (an ill fitting white sequined tee, skinnies and bed hair, not to mention ghastly lip paint) made an early yet solo entry on the red carpet.

Karan Johar’s favourite ‘new kids on the block’- SOTY stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt (in a va-va voom cut-out nude coloured gown ) and Siddharth Malhotra were exuberant, this being their first Filmfare nomination party. Their mentor Karan was there too: looking chic and pouty in an all-black suit.

Yummy Pakistani actor Ali Zafar looked freshly scrubbed and uber handsome in his black tux, and Ayushmann Khurrana went traditional in a black sherwani.

Ileana D’Cruz made an entrance and made hearts stop, in her coral blue gown and a handsome foreigner as arm candy. Deepika Padukone sizzled in an eclectic black floor length skirt and white singlet, with a high-street designer blazer on top. Very bohemian, very chic! Imran Khan kept it classy in a steel grey suit, but he looked lost minus his wife Avantika.

Superstar actress and super singer Priyanka Chopra was one of the last to arrive, having made it straight from a prior work commitment. Also seen on the red carpet were Sridevi (pretty in pink!) and singer/ rapper Hard Kaur (in an outlandish gold lamé tracksuit). Huma Qureshi looked like she’s piled on a few pounds, judging from the fit of her tight black midi dress.
