As it was assumed, ‘Sultan’ had a massive run at the box office with its promising collections. Since its release, the movie has not seen a major drop in its earnings. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial was released on the festive occasion of Eid and had the advantage of an extended weekend.
The film earned most of the collections from the massive advance bookings. Starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma in lead roles, the movie was much hyped even before the release. More than the film the masses were excited to view the star cast. The reviews for the film were positive which paved way for more audiences.

After a fantastic run in the initial days of release, the film has also shown laurels in the second weekend collections. ‘Sultan’ earned Rs. 34 crore net approx. in its second weekend. The countable films which have grossed such a good second weekend are ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Pk’ and ‘Dhoom 3′. The figures of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ were also fruitful in the second weekend and they were similar to ‘Sultan’s earnings.
The adult comedy ‘Great Grand Masti’ released on a low average and it was sure shot that its release won’t affect ‘Sultan’. However, the adult comedy flick has affected the growth of Salman Khan starrer by 7 to 8 crores.
Salman – Anushka starrer film is now the third highest earner of all times. It has raced past the records of ‘Dhoom 3′ and is now inching fast towards the collections of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Pk’.

The day wise collection of ‘Sultan’ is Rs.36.59 crore net approx. on Wednesday, Rs.37.25 crore net approx. on Thursday, Rs.31.50 crore net approx. on Friday, Rs.36.50 crore net approx. on Saturday, Rs.38.25 crore net approx. on Sunday, Rs.15.50 crore net approx. on Monday, Rs.13 crore net approx. on Tuesday, Rs. 11 crore net approx. on Wednesday and Rs. 9.50 crore net approx. on Thursday. The extended week one collection of the film comes to Rs.229.9 crore net approx.
The second weekend collection of the film is Rs. 7.50 crore net approx. on Friday, Rs.11.50 crore net approx. on Saturday and Rs. 15 crore net approx. on Sunday. The second weekend collection comes to Rs. 34 crore net approx.
The grand total of ‘Sultan’ is Rs. 263.9 crore net approx.
‘Sultan’ might easily chase the collections of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ but it might not be able surpass the collections of ‘Pk’.[/tps_footer]
