MUMBAI: Legendary yesteryear superstar Dilip Kumar’s condition is critical, but stable, as confirmed by his wife Saira Banu.
Banu was a beacon of strength as her husband lay in ICU in Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital, after being admitted for a heart attack.
Kumar, revered for his powerful, emotion-packed performances in films like ‘Devdas’, ‘Mughal-e-Azam, ‘Ram aur Shyam’ etc, is reportedly recovering steadily. The 90 year-old veteran was rushed to hospital on Sunday after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Said Saira Banu, “He has to overcome the problem and it will take some time. But he is recovering. This morning he got up and had tea. He needs to rest. I thank all the fans and well wishers for their prayers and request them to continue with it.”
Banu added: “He will come home soon.”
