[tps_footer]Bollywood director and Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder and Nepali director Aneel Neupane recently had a legal spat over the plot of Kunder‘s recently released short film ‘Kriti‘. Soon after the short film was released on YouTube, speculations started doing rounds that Kunder has copied the plot and that it should be pulled down from YouTube immediately. Well, the video is no longer available due to the copyright claim by Aneel Neupane.
In an open letter, Neupane had also said that plot of Kunder‘s Kriti was taken from his Nepali short film titled ‘BOB‘. Shirish Kunder’s wife Farah Khan has finally come out and has denied all the allegations of plagiarism over hubby Shirish Kunder’s short film ‘Kriti’. Farah Khan added saying that her husband has been working on the script for 3 years now.
Talking about the film being copied, Farah said, “Kriti’ is a psychological thriller, and there is almost always a psychiatrist in films of this genre, so you can’t say it was copied from another film. A script goes to a lot of people involved in the project — from the production house, casting agents, costume designer and actors. How is it not possible that someone stole our idea? Planning was going on for a year. The timelines do not match; their film was uploaded in May; ‘Kriti’ was shot in February.”
Also, Shirish Kunder and makers of the short film have denied all the allegations and have also filed a case for putting false allegations on him.[/tps_footer]
