MUMBAI: Bollywood sure knows how to party. This holi, a slew of Bollywood stars were spotted across Mumbai, celebrating holi in grand filmy style!
At one end of the city, yesteryear actress Shabana Azmi hosted a grand holi bash, and invited all her friends to come and play. A riot of colours, some great music and good friends were the highlight of Shabana Azmi and husband Javed Akhtar’s grand holi bash.
Shabana and Javed were virtually unrecognisable, doused under a multitude of colours. They played gracious hosts, doling out food and colour to their guests in equal measure, along with Javed’s daughter, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar.
Seen at their holi bash were good friends like Sudhir Mishra, Ashutosh Gowariker with his wife Sunita, Vipul Shah and Shefali Shah, Sandhya Mridul (in an unconventional pink kurta and a face full of gulal), Bengali actress Ritu and many more. TV stars Shama Sikander, Alex and Siddharth Kannan also paid a visit to the Akhtar’s grand holi bash.
The other side of town saw Bappi Lahiri, the singer and music composer with a ‘golden’ voice, celebrate holi without all his golden decked finery, with his loving family.
Suniel Shetty hosted an equally mad holi bash at his beach-side restaurant in South Bombay, which saw the likes of Shekhar Suman, Armaan Kohli, singer Harshi Madhaparia, and Kunika Lal have a blast.
