You expect nothing short of a total helluva, when South’s Megastar Rajinikanth and Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar come together for a film, 2.0.
At the trailer launch, the audience just got a glimpse into the world of ‘2.0’ and its nothing less than spectacular. The event saw Amy Jackson, director Shankar, music legend AR Rahman and the host of the event, Karan Johar. There was a surprise visit by Salman Khan as well.
Needless to say, Akshay‘s evil look was the talking point of the show. In fact, a couple of hours before the trailer launch, Akshay had taken to social media to reveal his look from the film where he plays the antagonist to Rajini Sir’s character.
Rajinikanth himself showered praises on Akshay and said that the nation is going to applaud him for his performance. The superstar said, “In this film I am the villain. The truth is the hero of ‘2.0’ is not Rajinikanth but Akshay Kumar. I would have taken that character. Hats off to Akshay, he has worked so hard.”
Reports suggest that Shankar’s magnum opus has a whopping budget of Rs. 350 crore which is believed to be the costliest film ever made on Indian celluloid, stepping over Bahubaali as well. The film, a sequel to Enthiran (Robo in Telugu and Robot in Hindi), initially shot in Tamil is said to be dubbed in Telugu and Hindi.
In the movie, Rajinikanth playing doctor-scientist Vaseegaran while Akshay plays a scientist called Dr. Richard, who turns into a Crow Man after an experiment goes wrong. The movie is slated for Diwali 2017 release.
