MUMBAI: MTV’s debut Video Music Awards India saw a glittering constellation of Bollywood stars, led by the gorgeous Priyanka Chopra, Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma.

This year’s VMAI’s saw a host of Bollywood and music personalities come together for a scintillating night of revelry music and madness, here in Mumbai. Imran Khan returned to his popular awards night host avatar, and was spotted entering the event in a candyfloss pink blazer over a white shirt and trousers; quite an interesting sartorial statement, and luckily one we approve of wholeheartedly.

Imran Khan was mighty excited to be hosting the MTV VMAI, and said “I am super excited to play host for the first ever MTV Video Music Awards in India. I am looking forward to the event and what’s more, I have my ‘Delhi Belly’ partner-in-crime Vir Das giving me company on stage! I am sure it will be a riot and the audience will surely enjoy us on stage.”

Priyanka Chopra sizzled on the red carpet in an eclectic vintage printed dress, and a rocker chic updo, almost made to resemble a towering mohawk. Once again, this style statement by PC gets a giant thumbs up, don’t you think?

Priyanka was also star performer on stage, along with Anushka Sharma, who was also sartorially fabulous in a gold sequined top and tight black leather jeans, with an adorable fringe framing her face. The two reportedly set the stage on fire with their dance performances.

Also present at the VMA’s were Anusha Dandekar, Keith, ‘Rangrezz’ star Jackky Bhagnani, Amit Sadh of ‘Kai Po Che’ fame, singers Mika, Sonu Niigaam, ace music composers A.R Rahman and Bappi Lahiri (replete with his infamous gold chains), Ayushmann Khurrana with his ‘Nautanki Saala’ co-star Kunaal Roy Kapur and sufi-rock maestro Kailash Kher.

Sofia Hayat chose an ensemble to highlight her, err, assets; while comedian Vir Das, who co-hosted with Imran Khan, looked dapper in a blue suit. The night also saw performances by Farhan Akhtar, rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh and Vishal Dadlani.
