With the extended holiday of Republic Day working in its favour, “Baby” has managed to reach the milestone of Rs 50 crores (500 million) in just four days.
Akshay Kumar starrer “Baby” had a rough start in the weekend, where the reports showed that the film was doing below expectations in box office. In four days the film has raked in approximately Rs. 50.97 (509 million) crores at domestic box office.
On its first day “Baby” had a collection of Rs. 9.3 crore (93 million). Although it wasn’t bad, it was considered poor by analysts. The rough start of the collection was assumed to be overcome during the weekend. The film collected Rs 11.17 crore (111 million) and Rs 15.60 crore (156 million) on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

By Monday, which was a extended holiday due to the occasion of Republic day, the film crossed the milestone of Rs 50 crores (500 million) by making an additional 14.90 crore (149 million). In total, “Baby” has collected Rs. 50.97 (509 million) by now.
Since Republic Day was upon us, and “Baby” being a film that gave a message about tackling terrorism in our country, people naturally preferred to watch it over Sonam Kapoor’s “Dolly Ki Doli”.
“Dolly Ki Doli” only collected Rs. 10.75 (107 million) in its initial three days. Producer Arbaaz Khan seemed to have no problem with it as the film was a low budget production.
