MUMBAI: ‘Fukrey’ directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, has opened with average to decent box office collections in the opening weekend. However the small budget film is completely overpowered by the Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ which is still dominating at the ticketing counter in its third week.
‘Fukrey’ stars Pulkit Samrat, Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh, Richa Chadda and Priya Anand in leading roles.
On Day 1, Friday, ‘Fukrey’ managed to collect approximately Rs 27.5 million (Rs 2.75 crore) net. Day 2 and Day 3 were somewhat better, with collections in the range of approximately Rs 30 million (Rs 3 crore) net and Rs 38.4 million (Rs 3.84 crore) net.
The three day total for ‘Fukrey’ is in the range of Rs 95.9 million (Rs 9.59 crore net). This is a very decent figure for a film starring no A-listers. Meanwhile YJHD has gone well past the Rs 1.5 billlion (Rs 150 crore) mark. SEE REPORT
