BOX OFFICE: ‘The Attacks of 26/11’ Fails To Launch

MUMBAI: Alumbra Entertainment’s ‘The Attacks of 26/11’, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, starring Nana Patekar and Sanjeev Jaiswal, has opened to very low collections at the box office.

Controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma had faced a lot of flak for touring the site of the attack within days of the aggression on 26 November, 2008 by Pakistani terrorists and making a film out of it.

Looks like the audience still hasn’t forgiven him for this.  The opening collections of hisThe Attacks of 26/11’, are extremely poor.

On day 1, ‘The Attacks of 26/11’ managed to garner a very low Rs 13.3 million (1.33 crore) net at the box office. Day 2, Saturday was only marginally better, at an average collections of Rs 16.8 million (1.68 crore) net, with the biggest contributors being the circles of Mumbai and parts of Maharashtra.

This week’s other big release, the John Abraham starrer ‘I, Me Aur Main’ has only fared marginally better (SEE BOX OFFICE REPORT), with only slightly higher average collections. With both these films tanking at the box office, the future looks bleak this week at the ticketing windows.
