Box Office: Ungli Disappoints, Fails At The Box Office

Having raised expectations of a genuine entertainer with a hard-hitting subject of corruption, Ungli, released on November 28, 2014 and turned out to be a disappointer. Directed by Rensil D’silva who gave us movies like Rang De Basanti and Kurbaan, Ungli did not match up to the expectations. Starring Kangana Ranaut, Emraan Hashmi, Sanjay Dutt, Randeep Hooda and Neil Bhoopalam the movie failed at its execution.

Over the weekend the movie Ungli has managed to rake in Rs. 9 crores (90 million) at the box office which surely is not at all an impressive figure for a movie coning from Dharma Productions banner. Thus, the movie has opened to an average business and did not seem to have a long run at the box office, as Ajay Devgn’s action comedy, Action Jackson is set to hit the theatres this week.

After having a terrible first three weeks, with movies like The Shaukeens, Kill Dil, Happy Ending; who made average and below average business, all had their hopes with Ungli to get in good numbers, but even Ungli joined in the list of disappointers.
